Alicja Bielak

Alicja Bielak ukończyła literaturoznawstwo (2015), a następnie obroniła doktorat z kulturoznawstwa i nauk o religii na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim (2019). W latach 2018–2021 wykładała na Wydziale Artes Liberales UW. Od 2020 r. jest adiunktką w IFIS PAN, gdzie prowadzi badania w ramach projektu ERC “From East to West, and Back Again. Student Travel and Transcultural Knowledge Production in Renaissance Europe” (PI: Valentina Lepri). Do jej zainteresowań badawczych należy piśmiennictwo nowożytne z szczególnym uwzględnieniem historii książki, emblematyki, reformacji. Członkini Zarządu Society for Emblem Studies oraz redakcji czasopisma “Emblematica: Essays in Word and Image”. Stypendystka Fundacji na Rzecz Nauki Polskiej (Stypendium START 2022), Herzog August Bibliothek w Wolfenbüttel (2021) oraz Instytutu LECTIO, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2022/2023). Autorka monograficznej edycji dzieła Marcina Hińczy pt. Plęsy Aniołów (IBL, seria: “Biblioteki Pisarzy Staropolskich”, 2019) oraz książki Słowo, obraz i dźwięk w Graduale de Sanctis ze zbiorów krakowskich karmelitów (Universitas 2022, współautor: Marek Bebak). Kierowniczka projektów (Diamentowy Grant, Preludium, NPRH). Od 2022 roku kieruje projektem NPRH pt. “Daniel Naborowski – poeta, medyk, dyplomata na dworze Radziwiłłów”.

Alicja Bielak graduated in literary studies (2015) and earned her Ph.D. in cultural and religious studies from the University of Warsaw (2019). Between 2018 and 2021 she was a lecturer at the Artes Liberales Faculty (University of Warsaw). Since 2020, she has been an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she conducts her research within the ERC Project, „From East to West, and Back Again. Student Travel and Transcultural Knowledge Production in Renaissance Europe” (PI: Valentina Lepri). Her scientific interests include book history, emblems, reformation, and knowledge transfer in the early modern period. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Emblem Studies and the editorial board of the journal “Emblematica: Essays in Word and Image”. She has received fellowships from the Foundation for Polish Science (START Scholarship 2022), Herzog August Bibliothek in Wolfenbüttel (2021), and the LECTIO Institute, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (2022/2023). She is the author of a critical edition of the work of Martin Hińcza entitled Plęsy Aniołów (IBL, “Biblioteki Pisarzy Staropolskich” series, 2019) and monograph Słowo, obraz i dźwięk w Graduale de Sanctis ze zbiorów krakowskich karmelitów (Universitas 2022, co-author: Marek Bebak). From 2022, she is leading a project, “Daniel Naborowski – Poet, Physician, and Diplomat at the Court of the Radziwiłł Family” (Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education).
