announces the competition for a scholarship for a doctoral student/candidate in the project
“Paltry pensions” in the context of the sense of social justice and the goals of pension policy. A multidimensional sociological analysis

We seek a PhD student in sociology to work in the project ‘Paltry pensions’ in the context of the sense of social justice and the goals of pension policy. A multidimensional sociological analysis. This project is funded by the National Science Centre, Poland (2021/41/B/HS6/04416).

Possibility to start: February 17, 2025 or March 3, 2025
A scientific stipend of PLN 2,500 per month (net), paid for 9 months, will be awarded in accordance with the rules contained in the Regulations for Awarding NCN Scholarships for NCN-funded Research Projects (Annex to Resolution No 25/2019 of the NCN Council). In the event of resignation of the selected candidate, the right to indicate the next person from the ranking list is reserved.

Selection procedure
The selection of applicants will be conducted on the basis of the principles set out in the Regulations for awarding NCN scholarships in research projects financed by the National Science Centre (Annex to the NCN Council Resolution No. 25/2019 of 14 March 2019) and in accordance with generally applicable laws and internal regulations of the entity in which the project is implemented.
Call for applications
The selection process involves two stages. In the first stage, the Selection Committee will apprise the completeness of application packages on formal grounds, and make a preliminary assessment of candidates on the basis of submitted documents. Up to three of the highest rated candidates will be invited to a personal interview.
Personal interviews, to be conducted in English and lasting up to 30 minutes, constitute the second stage of the competition. Interviews will be scheduled for: February 5, 2025 at IFiS’ headquarters or via Google Meet.
We will notify applicants about the outcome of the selection process by February 11, 2025. In the event of resignation of the selected application, we reserve the right to indicate the next application from the ranking list.
