announces the competition for a PhD Student Research Assistant position
in the project
ESS Runda 11 i 12

We seek a PhD student in sociology, political science, psychology, economics, statistics, or another social science, to join as research assistant (RA) in the project “ESS Runda 11 I 12” financed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education’s program “Support for the participation of Polish research teams in international research infrastructure projects”.
Number of scholarships: 1
Possibility to start: April 1, 2026

We offer an opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary research team with considerable international collaboration and joint publications. The position offers a scientific stipend of up to PLN 3800/month (gross, subject to a 12% income tax), paid for 6 months. The Institute of Philosophy and Sociology PAN is an equal opportunity employer.

Selection procedure
The selection of applicants will be conducted on the basis of the principles set out in “Regulamin przyznawania stypendiów naukowych dla młodych naukowców w projektach badawczych finansowanych ze źródeł zewnętrznych (w tym zagranicznych)”.

The selection process involves two stages.
Stage 1: At this stage, the Selection Committee will verify the completeness of application packages and conduct a preliminary evaluation based on the submitted documents. Up to four top-ranked candidates will be invited to the second stage.
Stage 2: The second stage will consist of individual interviews lasting up to 30 minutes. Interviews will take place on March 23-25, 2026, either online or at the IFiS headquarters in Warsaw, depending also on the candidate’s preference.
Applicants will be informed of the outcome of the selection process by March 27, 2026.
In the event of resignation of the selected application, we reserve the right to indicate the next application from the ranking list.
